120. What are God’s driving forces in the process of conversion?

God, through His Word and Spirit, brings about repentance and faith in the sinner.

• Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15)
• God has exalted Him to His right hand to be Prince and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:31)
• God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life. (Acts 11:18)
