131. What is sanctification?

Sanctification is God’s work in the reborn. It is the process of transforming him into the image of Jesus Christ. The image of God in man is being restored.

• This is the will of God, your sanctification. (1 Thessalonians 4:3)
• For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. (Romans 8:29)
• Put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:24)
