142. Where do the dead believers reside until their resurrection?

They live in undisturbed, blissful community with the Lord.

  • For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. (Philippians 1:23)
  • He said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:42-43)
  • For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. (Romans 14:8-9)
