189. What do we learn from the “Our Father” for all our prayers?

  1. We are to give first place to God, His kingdom, His name and His will in praying. God should come first, then man. In our prayers, the focus is so often on our own self and our wishes.
  2. We are to bring the prayers for ourselves, body and soul, with childlike reverence and confidence before God, who through Christ became our Father.
    • But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)
