27. Why does God punish sin?

God is holy and righteous. He does not allow man who encroach on His holiness to go unpunished.

• For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with You. (Psalm 5:45)
• You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness. (Habakkuk 1:13)
