124. What does faith mean?
Faith is the activity of our heart that establishes and maintains a living connection between us and the invisible God.
We communicate with the visible world through the natural five senses and perceive reality.
Faith is a spiritual sense (our sixth sense) through which we relate to the heavenly world and by which we are assured that God is our Father and Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.
- Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
- Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
