178. How does the Holy Spirit prepare us so that the Lord’s Supper may be a blessing to us?

The Holy Spirit leads me into silence, teaches me to listen to God’s Word and to pray.

  • Therefore, read Psalms 51 and 32 before celebrating the Lord’s Supper; Matthew 11:28-30; John 15:1-8 and the letters in Revelation 2 and 3. After celebrating the Lord’s Supper, read Psalm 103 with thanks; Colossians 3:1-12 and the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:1-12.
