31. But isn’t God a god of love?

Out of love God punishes the sinner to save him.

If God did not punish at all, sin would become so prevalent that man would sink into misery.

• You answered them, O LORD our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives,
  Though You took vengeance on their deeds. (Psalm 99:8)
• He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly. (Proverbs 13:24)
