14. How is the world sustained?

God sustains all creation through His almighty and present power and cares for His creatures like a father.

We call the expressed and continually working will of God the “laws of nature”. However, God is sovereign over nature. That is why He can do miracles.

• While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. (Genesis 8:22)
• The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. (Psalm 145:15)
